Veronica Issa is a Specialist Music Teacher and Violin/Viola educator based in Mount Barker, Adelaide Hills.

Veronica offers private violin lessons and viola lessons for children, teens and adults across the Adelaide region.

With over 20 years of teaching experience across private instrumental teaching, itinerant programs and classroom music, as well as training at the University of Auckland, including BMus Performance (Viola), GradDip in Secondary Teaching (Music), and PGDip Studio Pedagogy, she builds technique, musicality, and progress for all ages.

How A free trial works

I check level, posture, violin hold, bow hold, rhythm/note reading (if applicable).

We discuss your future progress and goals.


Step 2 — Clear next steps
You will leave with clear guidance on what to practise and which lesson plan best fits your goals.


Step 3 — Simple practice system
Short, achievable weekly goals to build consistency (without battles at home).


Step 4 — Progress checkpoints
Regular feedback for me so you can see improvement.

(Ages 5–10)

Beginner students will gain:

  • A solid foundation
  • Posture
  • Rhythm reading
  • Note reading
  • Taught with fun, age-appropriate activities.

These skills will provide confidence in the early stages of instrumental playing.

Grade 4-6

Intermediate students continue to work on their instrumental skills, such as:

  • Technique building
  • Tone development
  • Musical understanding
  • Confidence for school ensembles and concerts

These skills will build confidence and stage presence in the intermediate stages of instrumental playing.

Grade 7 and above

Advanced students continue to master their violin playing skills:

  • Ability to play higher-level repertoire with all required techniques, such as reliable intonation in all positions, secure shifting, advanced bow control, tone production variety, phrasing and shaping and many more
  • Ability to prepare for school orchestra auditions
  • Ability to achieve exam goals with structured progress targets.

Lesson options

Choose a lesson option based on your or your child’s experience:

  • 30 minutes — best for most beginners

  • 45 minutes — steady progress + exam prep

  • 60 minutes — advanced / performance goals
